The Standards for RTOs 2025

The Academy works under the Standards for RTOs 2025, which TAC calls the Registration Standards 2025. TAC-registered RTOs, including the Academy, moved to them on Thursday 1 January 2026, and every Academy policy was reissued as version 2.0 on that date. TAC requires RTOs to comply with three documents:
  • the Outcome Standards: Quality Area 1 training and assessment (Standards 1.1 to 1.8), Quality Area 2 VET student support (2.1 to 2.8), Quality Area 3 VET workforce (3.1 to 3.3) and Quality Area 4 governance (4.1 to 4.4);
  • the Compliance Standards, including the Fit and Proper Person Requirements;
  • the Credential Policy, which sets the training and assessment credentials our trainers and validators hold.

Academy documents cite them as, for example, "Standard 1.5", "Compliance Standards s10" and "Credential Policy 1C".

Governance

SteelRiver's governing persons are accountable for the Academy's compliance under the Standards.
Governing persons
  • Rajesh Iyengar, Chief Executive Officer, SteelRiver Logistics (executive officer)
  • Lila Petrov, Head of People and Culture (high managerial agent)
  • Gemma Whitfield, Academy Manager (high managerial agent)
Compliance obligations
  • An annual declaration on compliance to TAC, signed by Rajesh Iyengar on Lila Petrov's recommendation, after an annual self-assurance review.
  • TAC is told of any material change within the required time, and before any planned change of governing person.
  • Public liability insurance through the SteelRiver group policy.
  • No third party arrangements: all training and assessment is by Academy employees. SteelRiver workplace supervisors observe and report but do not make assessment judgements.
  • Every Academy flyer and page shows "RTO 99999 (simulated)" and the training product code and title as on training.gov.au.
